In science, we have begun their Light PBL (Project Based Learning) unit. Throughout this time, your students will be learning about light to answer the driving question, "How can we use what we know about light to help keep pedestrians and cyclists safe?" This will be a very engaging, meaningful unit. Ask your students what they have learned so far about light! (Opaque, Translucent, Transparent, Lense Types, & Prisms). There is a slideshow of some of our light investigation stations at the bottom of this post. In Social Studies, We are learning beginning our unit on European Explorers. We focus on explorers from Spain, France, & England. Talk to your children about where these places are and what they are like! In math we are continuing to work on multiplicative comparisons. Please continue to review multiplication facts with your children. We recommend flashcards or encouraging your child to get on their school Reflex accounts at home. If they master their multiplication facts, math will be much easier for them this year & in the years to come. In reading we have just finished our read aloud, Blood on the River. It tied into our Native American unit and was so engaging for the students. Help them with their reading comprehension by asking them what happened in the story. Encourage them to elaborate and add detail. We look forward to another wonderful week!!!
