What is Co-Teaching?
Ms. Stapleton and Mrs. Frazier are so excited to be co-teaching together this school year. Co-teaching is a teaching model that encourages collaboration and communication among 2 (or more) professionals in order to meet the diverse needs of all students. There are many benefits for students in a co-taught classroom, including a variety of teaching strategies, increased understanding of student needs, and increased acceptance of students with disabilities by their peers. There is also increased adult attention to students in a co-taught classroom, resulting in a lower student to teacher ratio.
Mrs. Stapleton and Mrs. Frazier will be co-teaching during all subjects of the day and have been trained in various co-teaching strategies.
